SOTW 9: The Last DJ - Tom Petty (2002)

History repeats itself, but hope is not lost at the bottom of the dial!

This week, I published my AI manifesto so that people could see how I am using it in a world that is increasingly machine-generated. Then I heard Petty’s song on the radio. Holy shit!

I’m going to let the song speak for itself. The parallel between the 2002 radio industry and today’s AI industry is stark. Corporate efficiencies and technological change are driving the mechanization of content creation and distribution; underneath it, the human longing for the human touch and authenticity is alive.

History repeats itself whether we like it or not.

I do not see myself as the DJ, but then again, maybe being at the bottom of the dial is where the real stuff happens!
