“You know the nearer your destination / The more you’re slip slidin’ away”
The demo version of this song, released in 2004, is rawer than the original release; I feel like it captures the feeling of the slipping and loss of control bleeding through.
In this week’s chapter of Honest Miles, things start slipping away. My relationships at home, my travel partners, and my business. I didn’t see it, but I could feel it, and it made me feel disconnected and uneasy.
The destination of understanding was more than 13,000 miles of riding away.
“We work our jobs / collect our pay / believe we’re gliding down the highway / when in fact we’re slip slidin’ away”
After a few weeks off for summer stuff, I’m back with the next chapter of Honest Miles on Sunday
